The invention relates to an inhaler (1) for powdered, particularly medical substances, comprising a suction air duct (12) that extends to a mouthpiece (3), a reservoir (11) for the substance (10), and an at least linearly movable dosing chamber (26) for separating a specific amount (101) of the substance from the reservoir (11) and placing said amount (101) into a transfer position in order for the same to be transferred to the suction air flow (S). In order to further develop a generic inhaler in an advantageous manner, especially so as to charge the dosing chamber by separating a specific amount of substance from the reservoir, the dosing chamber (26) can be rotationally moved in a superimposed fashion while being arranged eccentric to a corresponding axis of rotation (x).
