The glutamic acid residue of corticotropin-releasing hormone analogs have had the position 20 amino acid residue replaced with a D-amino acid moiety. The resulting CRH analogs do not significantly lower blood pressure but have anti- proliferative actions in cell culture and inhibit experimental cancer growth in animals (mice and rats). Novel applications of such analogs are described, such as to inhibit abnormal cell proliferation for conditions such as cancer, including melanoma, and for inflammatory dermatoses, such as psoriasis.

Selon la présente invention, la position 20 du résidu d'acide aminé du résidu d'acide glutamique de la corticolibérine a été remplacée par un groupe fonctionnel acide aminé D. L'analogue de corticolibérine ainsi obtenu ne fait pas sensiblement baisser la tension sanguine, mais fait preuve d'une action anti-proliférante dans la culture cellulaire et inhibe la croissance cancéreuse expérimentale chez des animaux (souris et rats). L'invention concerne également des applications de tels analogues, notamment pour bloquer la prolifération cellulaire anormale dans le cas d'états tels que le cancer, y-compris les mélanomes, et dans le cas des dermatoses inflammatoires telles que le psoriasis.
