ABSTRACT Diisopropylamine, N-methyl pyrolle, butylene oxide, propylene oxide, methyl acetate, acetone, tertiary amylenes and optionally methyl alcohol in admixture with methylene chloride have been found to prevent degradation of methylene chloride in the presence of metals, metal halides, combinations thereof, and aromatic compounds, which react with methylene chloride in the presence of said metals, metal halides and combinations thereof. A method for vapor degreasing metals by using the stabilized methylene chloride is described. - 1 -
