The present invention relates to methods for treatment of tumors and other diseases in a mammal comprising administration of antibodies specific for Macrophage-Stimulating Protein Receptor (~MSP-R~ or ~RON~). The present invention further provides for compositions comprising antibodies of antibody fragments specific for Ron, including human antibodies, that inhibit RON activation.
