The present invention relates to novel methods for the detection of substances capable of modulating or inhibiting pathological tau-tau protein association and pathological neurofilament aggregation. The methods of the present invention are particularly useful in screening substances for the prophylaxis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, motor neuron disease, Lewy body disease, Pick's disease and progressive supranuclear palsy. In addition, substances capable of selectively inhibiting pathological aggregates while preserving normal cytoskeletal function are described.
Nouvelles méthodes de détection de substances capables de moduler ou d'inhiber l'association de la protéine tau-tau pathologique et l'agrégation neurofilamentaire pathologique. Les méthodes de la présente invention sont particulièrement utiles dans le criblage de substances pour la prophylaxie et le traitement de la maladie d'Alzheimer, de la maladie des neurones moteurs, de la maladie du corps de Lewy, de la maladie de Pick et de la paralysie supranucléaire progressive. En outre, l'invention concerne des substances susceptibles d'inhiber sélectivement des agrégats pathologiques tout en préservant une fonction cytosquelettique normale.
