Novel compounds having activity inhibitors of urokinase and in reducing or inhibiting blood vessel formation are provided. These compounds have an arginine or arginine mimic aldehyde or an arginine ketoamide group at P1. These compounds are useful in vitro for monitoring plasminogen activator levels and in vivo in treatment of conditions which are ameliorated by inhibition of or decreased activity of urokinase and in treating pathologic conditions wherein blood vessel formation is related to a pathologic condition.

L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés possédant une activité inhibitrice d'urokinase et réduisant ou inhibant la formation de vaisseaux sanguins. Les composés comportent une arginine ou un aldéhyde imitant l'arginine, ou un groupe cétoamide d'arginine en P1. Ces composés sont utiles in vitro pour surveiller les taux d'activateurs du plasminogène, et in vivo dans le traitement d'états pouvant être améliorés par une inhibition ou par une activité réduite d'urokinase, et dans le traitement d'états pathologiques dans lesquels la formation de vaisseaux sanguins est liée à un état pathologique.
