ABSTRACT In vinyl chloride polymerization, the rate of polymeriz- ation is significantly increased by using an organic azo or peroxide free-radical initiator composition containing about 4.0 to 30% by weight based on the initiator of an alkyl or aralkyl alcohol of 8 to 20 carbons.
