Injectable radio-opaque compositions for tissue augmentation and in particular hard tissue augmentation, and kits and methods of using thereof are described herein. The injectable compositions form porous, biologically degradable, fibrin matrices. The compositions are formed from fibrinogen, thrombin or another agent that causes the fibrinogen to crosslink, and strontium salts. Optionally an iodinated contrast agent is further incorporated in the composition. In certain aspects, the compositions have substantially no exothermicity when forming the matrix and the resulting matrices exhibit mechanical properties typically seen in elastomers. Adequate radio-opacity is achieved through the incorporation of strontium salts in combination or not with iodinated contrast agents.

L'invention concerne des compositions radio-opaques injectables pour une augmentation de tissu et, notamment, une augmentation de tissu dur, ainsi que des coffrets et des procédés d'utilisation de ces compositions. Les compositions injectables forment des matrices de fibrine, biologiquement dégradables et poreuses. Les compositions sont formées à partir de fibrinogène, de thrombine ou d'un autre agent, amenant le fibrinogène à réticuler, et de sels de strontium. Facultativement, un agent de contraste iodé est en outre incorporé dans la composition. Sous certains aspects, les compositions n'ont sensiblement pas d'exothermicité lors de la formation de la matrice et les matrices résultantes présentent des propriétés mécaniques typiquement observées dans les élastomères. Une radio-opacité adéquate est obtenue par l'incorporation de sels de strontium en combinaison ou non avec des agents de contraste iodés.
