An implant dart (10) has a head (20) of solid material and a tubular body (30) that contains one or more drug delivery implant packages (50). The head has a blade (27) at its front end with a chisel-type point with a beveled end (28) and a scooped face extending rearwardly to the body. The body is formed as a helical coil (32) that makes the body tubular, and permits the coil turns to be compressed and engage to make the body relatively rigid when the dart is injected into the subject. A passage (60) from the head to the interior of the body provides fluid communication between the subject's body fluids and the implant packages. The complete system comprises at least one dart, an injection mechanism which retains a subject's body part on a platen, and feeds darts into the body part generally parallel to the platen.
Fléchette (10) renfermant un implant, dotée d'une tête (20) en matière solide et d'un corps tubulaire (30) qui contient une ou plusieurs cartouches à implanter (50) aptes à libérer un médicament. L'extrémité antérieure de la tête présente une lame (27) à pointe en forme de burin présentant une extrémité biseautée (28) et une face creuse s'étendant vers l'arrière en direction du corps. Le corps se présente sous la forme d'une bobine hélicoïdale (32) conférant au corps sa forme tubulaire et permettant la compression des spires de la bobine de sorte qu'elles coopèrent les unes avec les autres pour rendre le corps relativement rigide lors de l'injection de la fléchette dans le sujet. Un passage (60) reliant la tête à l'intérieur du corps met les liquides corporels du sujet en communication fluidique avec les cartouches implantées. L'ensemble du système comporte au moins une fléchette, et un mécanisme d'injection qui serre une partie du corps du sujet contre un plateau et introduit les fléchettes dans ladite partie du corps dans un sens généralement parallèle au plateau.
