ABSTRACT The invention relates to an injection device for introducing gases into metallurgical vessels, comprising: a) a gas sink (1), formed with gas-carrying ducts (2), constructed as two refractory circular frustums, one of which encloses the other one concentrically, b) a metal layer (6) enclosing the outer and inner generated surfaces of the gas sink and its base area (5), c) a gas supply pipe (7) disposed at the centre of the metal-coated base area (5) of the circular frustoconical gas sink (1), d) two chambers separated from one another, of which the inner one carries gas and the outer one does not carry gas, e) a perforate block (8) enclosing the metal-coated generated surface of the circular frustoconical gas sink (1). The characterizing feature of the invention is that the upper end of the frustum end (9) not enclosed by the perforate block (8) extends beyond the lining (10) of the ladle bottom into the inside of the ladle, and the perforate block (8) and the gas sink (1) disposed therein are provided with an outer envelope (11) of cast or rammed refractory material.
