A b s t r a c t The invention describes an injection syringe (1) comprising a cylinder (2), a piston (8) guided in the cylinder (2) and a piston rod (6) connected to the piston particularly by a coupling device (7), the length of the piston rod preferably being greater than the length of the cylinder (2), and further comprising a coupling arrangement (3) at the side of the cylinder (2) remote from the piston rod (6), whereby an injection needle (4) can be coupled to the cylinder (2). A safeguard against reuse (201) is associated with the piston (8) and/or the piston rod (6) and has an opening member 215 which is joined to the piston (8) and/or the piston rod (6) or arranged between them.
