INJECTION FREQUENCY LOCKED TEA LASER Abstract A very high power stable frequency TEA laser receiver- transmitter combination for applications requiring coherent detection. The transmitter includes a conventional CW laser tube positioned in a resonant cavity also containing a high power TEA laser. The high power output pulses are injection locked to the CW laser for frequency stability. The frequency of the laser pulses is tuned by changing the optical length of the resonant cavity in response to the frequency of a portion of the output signal. Electrical to optical power efficiency is improved as a result of the high percentage of power extracted from the cavity.
