Described is a method of injecting into plants a free-flowing solid, semi- solid or liquid agent designed to give controlled release of at least one active substance, the method using pressure-operated equipment without needles. The method is characterized in that the microparticles in the agent have a maximum diameter of 100 µm and contain the following constituents: a) 0.5-70 % by wt. of at least one active substance, b) 10-70 % by wt. of at least one biodegradable polymer, c) up to 20 % by wt. of formulation auxiliaries.
