An injection molding apparatus in which a piston within the injection molding head which is supplied with two thermoplastic materials from respective injectors. A control piston in the head is displaceable only by the pressures of the two materials and serves to allow a skin material to be initially injected into a mold, a core material to be injected thereafter and additional skin material to be injected in a third step so that the core material is fully enveloped in the skin material.
