Reinforcing ridges are formed so as to project from corner portions of peripheral walls, and an opening end edge is made thick-walled, so that an ink cartridge having a sufficient rigidity can be molded using polypropylene that is not air-permeable but that is soft. In addition, shape keeping ribs are formed so as to project from the outer sides of longitudinal ribs that are formed on an inner surface of a cover body, so that deformation of the cartridge can be suppressed during vibration welding. Further, a support rod is engaged with a engaging recess arranged in a lower surface of an ink cartridge, and a carriage cover body is closed while guiding a lifter with a guide groove that in parallel to the axial center of an ink supply needle. As a result, the ink cartridge is allowed to descend correctly toward a recording head, so that the ink cartridge can be loaded correctly without breaking the ink supply needle.
