ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ink cartridge for use in an ink supply system of an ink jet printer has an opening extending through a bottom wall and provided with a seal, and an ink liquid ab- sorbing member associated with the seal for absorbing ink liquid leakage from the seal upon piercing of the seal by an ink feed member and subsequent removal of the ink feed member from the seal.
