An ink development process for the preparation of pigmented solid inks including the steps of preparing a mill base and preparing an ink from the mill base. The mill base contains a pigment, and a solvent or oil as a wetting and dispersing media for the pigment. The mill base may contain a plasticizer. A hot melt pigmented ink is also provided.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'élaboration d'encre permettant la fabrication d'encres solides pigmentées, qui comprend les étapes suivantes : préparation d'un pigment en pâte, et élaboration d'une encre à partir dudit pigment. Le pigment en pâte renferme un pigment, et un solvant ou une huile tenant lieu de mouillant et de dispersant pour le pigment. Le pigment en pâte peut renfermer un plastifiant. L'invention concerne également une encre pigmentée par hot-melt.
