The present invention provides a chemical ink comprises a solvent, a binder polymer, a colorant and optionally a crosslinker. The ink of the invention has one or more of the following characteristics: a viscosity lower than about 50 centipoises; a surface tension of from about 20 mN/m to about 60 mN/m; a particle size of less than about 5 µm; prolonged stability; an appropriate color level (visible by eye); uniform drop formation; jet stability; good adhesion to contact lenses; good transfer from a mold to a lens made in the mold; and stability of ink in inkjet nozzles. The ink of the invention is useful for inkjet printing of a high-quality color image on a contact lens or a mold so as to produce a colored contact lens.
La présente invention concerne une encre chimique comprenant un solvant, un polymère liant, un colorant et éventuellement un agent de réticulation. L'encre de l'invention possède au moins une des caractéristiques suivantes: une viscosité inférieure à environ 50 centipoises; une tension superficielle comprise entre environ 20 mN/m et environ 60 mN/m; une grosseur de particule inférieure à environ 5 µm; une stabilité prolongée; une intensité de couleur appropriée (visible à l'oeil nu); une formation de goutte uniforme; une stabilité du jet; une bonne adhésion aux lentilles de contact; un bon transfert du moule à la lentille formée dans le moule; et une stabilité dans les buses de jet d'encre. L'encre de l'invention est utile dans l'impression à jet d'encre d'image couleur de haute qualité sur une lentille de contact ou un moule de façon à produire une lentille de contact colorée.
