Ink jet recording paper compatible with fast ink jet printers, wherein mercerized pulp obtained by alkali-treating pulp is used as a fiber material to thereby provide ink jet recording paper high in ink absorbing speed and in ink coloring concentration. An excellent ink absorbing speed offered by the paper itself eliminates the need of coating for improving an ink absorbing property and permits the paper to be used as non-coating type ink jet recording paper.

L'invention concerne un papier d'enregistrement de jet d'encre, compatible avec des imprimantes rapides à jet d'encre, et dans lequel la pâte mercerisée, obtenue par traitement alcalin, est utilisée en tant que matériau à base de fibres, de manière à doter le papier d'enregistrement de jet d'encre d'une vitesse d'absorption élevée et d'une concentration de coloration également élevée.
