INK JET SHUTOFF SYSTEM Abstract of the Disclosure Fouling of an electrostatic ink jet head is sensed and causes shutoff of the head and of the associated electron- ics. The fouling is sensed by detecting contamination of the charge electrodes or of the deflection plates by conduc- tive ink, the detection being by sensitive circuitry employing diodes.
