An ink-receptive coating composition. In a preferred embodiment, the composition includes (a) a polyamide, the polyamide comprising an aliphatic polyamide in particulate form, the aliphatic polyamide having a softening point in the temperature range of about 50-2500C and an average particle size of about 1 to 80 microns; (b) a plasticizer, the plasticizer being a solid plasticizer selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfonamides and aromatic sulfonamides, the solid plasticizer having a melting point in the range of about 50-200 °C; (c) a binder, the binder being a thermoplastic polymer delivered as a water-based emulsion or solution, the binder having a Tg in the range of about -20-1200C; (d) a dye-retention agent, the dye-retention agent comprising at least one cationic polymer; (e) an ink viscosity-modifying agent; and (f) a dispersant, the dispersant being selected from the group of cationic and non-ionic dispersants. The composition may be used to form, for example, an ink-receptive coating as part of an ink-jet recording sheet or a heat- transfer sheet.
Composition de couchage amoureux de l'encre. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, la composition comprend : (a) un polyamide, le polyamide comprenant un polyamide aliphatique sous forme de particules, le polyamide aliphatique ayant un point de ramollissement compris dans la plage de températures d'environ 50-250°C et une taille moyenne des particules d'environ 1 à 80 microns; (b) un plastifiant, le plastifiant étant un plastifiant solide sélectionné dans le groupe constitué de sulfonamides alkyliques et de sulfonamides aromatiques, le plastifiant solide ayant un point de fusion compris dans la plage d'environ 50-200°C; (c) un liant, le liant étant un polymère thermoplastique fourni sous forme d'une émulsion ou solution aqueuse, le liant ayant une Tg comprise dans la plage d'environ -20-120°C; (d) un agent de rétention des colorants, l'agent de rétention des colorants comprenant au moins un polymère cationique; (e) un agent modifiant la viscosité de l'encre; et (f) un dispersant, le dispersant étant sélectionné dans le groupe constitué de dispersants cationiques et non ioniques. La composition peut être utilisée pour former, par exemple, un couchage amoureux de l'encre faisant partie d'une feuille d'impression par jet d'encre ou d'une feuille de transfert à chaud.
