An ink supply system for supplying ink to a printhead (29) comprises at least one ink manifold comprising a plurality of outlets (17) for supplying ink from the manifold to the printhead, and at least one valve (18) for selectively closing at least one of the outlets in order to increase the pressure of the ink supply from an open outlet to the printhead.

Cette invention se rapporte à un système d'amenée d'encre qui sert à acheminer de l'encre jusqu'à une tête d'impression (29) et qui comprend à cet effet au moins un collecteur d'encre présentant plusieurs sorties (17) servant à amener l'encre du collecteur à la tête d'impression, et au moins une valve (18) servant à fermer sélectivement au moins l'une des sorties, afin d'accroître la pression de l'arrivée d'encre provenant d'une sortie ouverte à destination de la tête d'impression.
