A salt of a sulfonated dye comprising an ammonium cation as a counterion. The ammonium cation comprises at least 3 hydroxyl groups. The salt is useful in reducing kogation in thermal inkjet printheads. One example of these salts is the compound of formula (II): wherein M is Ga(OH); and each of Z1+, Z2+, Z3+ and Z4+ is protonated 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)- 2,2',2''-nitrilotriethanol.

L'invention porte sur un sel d'un colorant sulfoné comprenant un cation ammonium comme contre-ion. Le cation ammonium comprend au moins 3 groupes hydroxyles. Le sel est utile dans la réduction de la kogation (dégradation de l'encre en une forme insoluble formant des dépôts) dans des têtes d'impression thermique par jet d'encre. Le composé de formule (II) est un exemple de ces sels : dans laquelle formule M représente Ga(OH); et chacun parmi Z1+, Z2+, Z3+ et Z4+ représente un 2,2-bis(hydroxyméthyl)-2,2',2''-nitrilotriéthanol protoné.
