Traditionally, blackboards, chalk boards and whiteboards are used for display purposes in classrooms and offices. These boards use chalk sticks or ink markers to write and need an eraser for clean up. This invention relates to a group of electrical display panels which can replace these boards and allows direct free hand writing without using any chalk or ink. The display panel utilizes a dot matrix of display elements with a writing device to turn them on and off. The panel has built in storage capability and can include interfaces to an external printing device and controller such as a computer.
