INLET GUIDE VANE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thin inlet guide vane is investment cast of a high thermal conductivity material. Internal flow chambers include pins bridging the flow chambers. The pins provide strength and support to sheathing members, aid in the transfer of heat from air in the flow chambers to the sheathing members and provide air flow control. The use of investment casting permits guide vane shapes to be optimized for aerodynamic efficiency without the shape constraints which have been enforced by fabrication procedures of the prior art.
