ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an inner seal to prevent the ingress of sea water in the knuckle pins connecting the legs of the drilling or produc- tion platform to the knuckle posts which are connected to the spud tanks thereof. A pair of hubs, each having two resilient circular sealing plates made of sea water-resistant spring steel or the like and capable of reacting to sea water pressure are arranged on each knuckle pin between the solid inner faces of the legs and the side faces of a bearing eye, so that the sealing plates are each formed with a ring-shaped sealing ridge, and having at least one sealing ring made of sea water-resistant elastic material capable of being pressed against the inner faces of the legs, to create an effective seal.
