A need exists for so-gel coating systems that have a low VOC content and resist cracking. The present invention provides an inorganic coating composition based on cyclic carbosiloxanes, inorganic polycondensates and .alpha.,.omega.-functional linear oligosiloxanes that addresses the need, and also to a process for production thereof and to the use thereof and to a non-stick layer so obtained.
