IMPACT MODIFICATION OF POLYPHENYLENE ETHER-POLYAMIDE COMPOSITIONS ABSTRACT Resinous compositions having excellent impact resistance are obtained by initially blending at least one polyphenylene ether or a blend thereof with at least one polystyrene, a functionalizing compound such as maleic anhydride or fumaric acid and an unfunctionalized elastomeric olefin copolymer such as an EPDM, and subsequently blending the resulting product with at least one polyamide. These resin compositions are suitable for molding into plastic parts having a good impact resistance characteristic.
