An input device is disclosed having an interface controller (12) which transmits both keystroke (13) and voice data (14) to a computer. The computer may split the data for separate processing and include vocal articulation processing for voice or speech recognition. The input device may be a voice recognition keyboard where voice recognition processing is local to the keyboard and the keyboard may remotely control multimedia electronic devices. The spoken commands to the input device may initiate internet access. The invention further contemplates methods for providing keystroke and voice input (17) to a computer system over a single interface for voice or speech recognition, converting spoken words into text, providing access to the internet from a computer connected to the internet, or remotely controlling at least one electronic device with a spoken command.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'entrée comportant une commande d'interface (12) qui transmet à la fois les données de frappe (13) et les données vocales (14) à un ordinateur. L'ordinateur peut fractionner les données en vue de les traiter séparément; il fait également intervenir un traitement d'articulation vocale aboutissant à la reconnaissance vocale. Ce dispositif d'entrée peut être un clavier à reconnaissance vocale dans lequel le traitement de reconnaissance vocale est local au clavier, lequel clavier peut télécommander des dispositifs électroniques multimédias. Les commandes vocales destinées au dispositif d'entrée peuvent déclencher l'accès Internet. Par ailleurs, cette invention concerne des procédés permettant de saisir (17) des données de frappes et des données vocales dans un système informatique à l'aide d'une seule interface permettant d'effectuer la reconnaissance vocale, de convertir les paroles en texte, de fournir l'accès Internet à partir d'un ordinateur connecté à Internet, ou de télécommander au moins un dispositif électronique avec une commande vocale.
