An insect bait-and-switch liquid delivery apparatus for the control of insects. The apparatus includes a reservoir (2) defining a first chamber (6) containing liquid bait attractive to an insect and a second chamber (7) containing liquid active toxic to an insect, a first feeding station in the first chamber (6) for making liquid bait available to an insect, a second feeding station in the second chamber (7) for making liquid active available to an insect, a passageway interconnecting the first and second chambers, and an access port (20) disposed to initially prevent or limit access of an insect to the second feeding station during an initial feeding period and to subsequently enable access to the second feeding station via the passageway after the initial feeding period. In one embodiment, the access port is located beneath the surface of the liquid bait, and in another embodiment the access port is located above the surface of said liquid bait.
L'invention concerne un appareil de distribution de pesticide liquide de type "appât et substitution". L'appareil comprend un réservoir (2) qui définit une première chambre (6) contenant un appât liquide attirant les insectes et une deuxième chambre (7) contenant une substance liquide active toxique pour les insectes, un premier poste d'alimentation dans la première chambre (6) où l'appât liquide est présenté aux insectes, un deuxième poste d'alimentation dans la deuxième chambre (7) où l'appât liquide est mis à la disposition des insectes, un canal reliant les première et deuxième chambres, et un orifice d'accès (20) disposé de manière à empêcher, dans un premier temps, ou à limiter l'accès des insectes au deuxième poste d'alimentation pendant la période d'alimentation initiale et à permettre, dans un deuxième temps, l'accès au deuxième poste d'alimentation à travers le canal au terme de la période d'alimentation initiale. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'orifice d'accès est disposé sous la surface de l'appât liquide, et dans un autre mode de réalisation l'orifice d'accès est disposé au-dessus de la surface dudit appât liquide.
