The invention provides compositions and methods useful in repelling target pests, such as insects from target areas. The compositions comprise mixtures or solutions of at least one repellent composition. The compositions of the invention preferably include an effective amount of evening primrose oil ("EPO") to repel a target pest from a target area, such as animals, humans, plants or building structures, along with a carrier. The repellent composition may include a combination of EPO with another plant extract oil and a combination of EPO with catnip oil, optionally combined with another plant extract oil. The method for repelling target pests from animals comprises contacting a target area with the repellent composition to repel the target pest from the target area. The method also reduces transmission of infectious diseases transmitted by target pests by reducing contact of the pest with target areas.
La présente invention se rapporte à des compositions et procédés permettant de faire fuir les animaux nuisibles cibles tels que les insectes dans les zones cibles. Ces compositions comportent des mélanges ou des solutions d'au moins une composition répulsive. Les compositions selon l'invention comprennent de préférence une quantité efficace d'huile d'onagre (EPO) dans le but de faire fuir un animal nuisible cible d'une zone cible telle qu'un animal, une personne, des plantes ou un édifice, ainsi qu'un excipient. La composition répulsive comprend éventuellement une association d'EPO et d'une autre huile extraite d'une plante, et une association d'EPO et d'huile d'herbe aux chats, éventuellement en association avec une autre huile extraite d'une plante. Le procédé permettant de faire fuir les animaux nuisibles cibles consiste à répandre dans la zone cible la composition répulsive afin de chasser l'animal nuisible cible de la zone cible. Le procédé permet également de réduire la transmission de maladies infectieuses transmises par les animaux nuisibles cibles, grâce à une réduction de l'exposition des zones cibles à l'animal nuisible.
