ABSTRACT INSECTICIDAL ALKENES There are described novel compounds of formula: CXY=CH-CR1R2-CH2OCH2R wherein X and Y are each selected from hydrogen and halogen, R1 and R2 are each lower alkyl or together represent an alkylene group, and R is a phenoxyphenyl or a phenoxypyridyl group. The compounds and compositions comprising them are useful as insecticides. A typical example is 3,3-dimethyl-4-(4-fluoro-3-phenoxybenzyloxy)but- 1-ene.
