INSECTICIDAL COMPOUNDS CHARACTERISED BY ENHANCED KNOCKDOWN EFFECT ABSTRACT The invention provides insecticidal compositions exhibiting excellent knockdown activity against public health pests, in particular cockroach species, comprising compounds of formula (I) : Image (I) wherein X represents a group of formula : Image where (i) R1 and R2 are each selected from hydrogen, halo and C1-4 alkyl, or (ii) R1 is hydrogen and R2 represents either R3(R4) C=CH- or R3(R4) (R5)C-CH(R5)-, where R3 and R4 are selected from hydrogen, methyl, halo and C1-2 haloalkyl and R5 is selected from chloro and bromo. The invention also provides methods of use of the compositions, novel compounds of formula (I) and processes for their preparation.
