The invention provides a mixture of gamma-cyhalothrin and one or more further active ingredients having insecticidal, nematicidal or acaricidal activity wherein the one or more further active ingredients are selected from the group consisting of: (a) one or more antibiotic insecticides which are selected from the group consisting of abamectin, emamectin benzoate and spinosad; (b) one or more organothiophosphate insecticides which are selected from the group consisting of chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl, profenofos and methidathion; (c) one or more benzoylphenyl ureas which are selected from the group consisting of lufenuron and novaluron; (d) an oxadiazine insecticide which is indoxacarb; (e) a pyrethroid ester insecticide which is lambda-cyhalothrin; (f) an antifeedant which is pymetrozine; (g) a phenylpyrazole acaricide which is fipronil; (h) a moulting hormone agonist insecticide which is methoxyphenozide; (i) a pyrrole acaricide and insecticide which is chlorfenapyr; (j) a synergist which is piperonyl butoxide; (k) pyridaben and (l) pyridalyl. The mixture may be used to make an insecticidal composition further comprising an insecticidally inert carrier or diluent and, optionally, one or more surface active agents. The mixture may be used to combat or control insect, acarine or nematode pests at a locus.
