An intraocular lens (10) capable of being manipulated by a pulling tool (50) through a limbal incision in the eye, which utilizes an optical portion. The optical portion (12) takes the form of a flexible transparent body (12). A fixation element (16) is also employed in the present invention for positioning the lens (10) in an interior segment of the eye. The fixation means (16) may consist of at least one appendage (18, 20) which is connected to the optical portion (12). The optical portion (12) further possesses an engagement zone (22, 24) for permitting the exertion of a force adjacent the optical portion (12) by a pulling tool (50). The integrity of the optical portion (12), and/or the fixation element (16) is maintained by reinforcement or strengthening of the same against forces exerted by the pulling tool (50).

Lentille intraoculaire (10) pouvant être manipulée par un instrument de traction (50) à travers une incision limbique dans l'oeil et mettant en application une partie optique. Cette partie optique (12) se présente sous la forme d'un corps souple transparent (12). On utilise également un élément de fixation (16) afin de positionner la lentille (10) dans un segment intérieur de l'oeil. Cet élément de fixation (16) peut consister en au moins un appendice (18)(20) relié à la partie optique (12). Cette partie optique (12) possède, de plus, une zone de contact (22) (24) permettant d'exercer une force en position contiguë à ladite partie (12) au moyen d'un instrument de traction (50). On conserve l'intégrité soit de la partie optique (12), soit de l'élément de fixation (16), par renforcement de ces derniers contre des forces exercées par l'instrument de traction (50).
