The present invention relates to an insertion system for medical devices and to surgical methods for the implantation of the same. In one embodiment, the implantation system includes a guide wire and an insertion tool. The insertion tool includes a longitudinal bore extending therethrough for receipt of the guide wire. A portion of the longitudinal bore of the insertion tool mates with the outer surface of the guide wire to rotationally lock the insertion tool and the guide wire. Additionally, the medical device to be inserted includes a longitudinal bore for receipt of the guide wire. Similarly, at least a portion of the longitudinal bore of the medical device may also mate with the outer surface of the guide wire to rotationally lock the medical device and the guide wire. The rotational locks allow for rotation of the insertion tool to result in corresponding rotation of the medical device via rotation of the guide wire. In another embodiment, the insertion system further includes a needle having an eyelet for receiving and positioning filaments attached to the medical device.
La présente invention concerne un système d'insertion destiné à des dispositifs médicaux et des procédés chirurgicaux permettant l'implantation de ce système. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, le système d'implantation comprend un fil guide et un outil d'insertion. L'outil d'insertion comprend un alésage longitudinal s'étendant à travers le système permettant de recevoir le fil guide. Une partie de l'alésage longitudinal de l'outil d'insertion s'apparie avec la surface extérieure du fil guide afin de verrouiller de manière rotationnelle l'outil d'insertion et le fil guide. Par ailleurs, ce dispositif médical à introduire comprend un alésage longitudinal destiné à recevoir le fil guide. De la même façon, au moins une partie de l'alésage longitudinal de ce dispositif médical peut aussi s'apparier avec la surface extérieure du fil guide de façon à verrouiller de manière rotationnelle le dispositif médical et le fil guide. Les verrouillages rotationnels permettent la rotation de l'outil d'insertion induisant une rotation correspondante du dispositif médical via la rotation du fil guide. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le système d'insertion comprend aussi une aiguille possédant un oeillet destiné à recevoir et positionner des filaments fixés au dispositif médical.
