An inspection tool or pig for travelling through a pipeline (1) comprises a first carrier (2) connected by a universal joint (4) to a second carrier (3) which may support an inertial measurement unit (5), a data recording system (6), and odometer wheels (7). First carrier (2) may be a magnetic flux leakage tool carrier including a pig rubber (8) and a tapered nose cone (9). A magnetic circuit for pipeline inspection may be constructed by separating magnets or poles (12) over a given length (11) and coupling them to the wall of pipeline (1) via pliable steel brushes (13) and is completed by backing bar (14). Magnetic assemblies of sensors (15) are repeated radially around carrier (2) to provide complete circumferential coverage.
La présente invention concerne un instrument d'inspection ou racleur destiné à parcourir un pipeline (1) et comprenant un premier chariot (2) connecté par un joint universel (4) à un deuxième chariot (3) qui peut supporter un mesureur inertiel (5), une chaîne de centralisation de mesures (6) et des roues (7) à compteur kilométrique. Le premier chariot (2) peut consister en un chariot outil à dispersion de flux magnétique comprenant un caoutchouc (8) de racleur et une coiffe avant conique (9). On peut construire un circuit magnétique pour l'inspection du pipeline en séparant des aimants ou des pôles (12) sur une longueur donnée (11) et en les couplant à la paroi du pipeline (1) via des brosses (13) souples en acier, ledit circuit étant complété par une barre de renfort (14).
