An installation for in situ monitoring the quality of a habitat of aquatic organism with minimal disturbance to the aquatic organisms. In a first aspect of the present invention, the monitoring installation uses invertebrate sentinel species such as mussels, clams, oysters and scallops. The monitoring installation comprises broadly, a buoy; a mooring and a monitoring apparatus comprising; a framework having an upper end connected to the buoy and a lower end connected to the mooring. There is also provided a camera attached to the framework. The camera is adapted for underwater operation and has image data generating and transmitting capabilities for transmitting a number of images to a remote receiver. A support structure is detachably mounted to the framework and has rotary retainers for movably supporting one or more socks of mollusks in front of the camera.
Installation pour contrôler in situ la qualité de l'habitat d'organismes aquatiques avec un minimum de dérangement pour ceux-ci. Dans un premier aspect de l'invention, l'installation de contrôle utilise des espèces indicatrices invertébrées telles que les moules, les palourdes, les huîtres et les pétoncles. L'installation de contrôle comprend en gros une bouée; un ancrage et un appareil de contrôle comprenant un bâti ayant un bout supérieur raccordé à la bouée et un bout inférieur raccordé à l'ancrage. Il y a également une caméra qui est attachée au bâti. La caméra est adaptée pour fonctionner sous l'eau et a des capacités de génération et de transmission de données-image pour transmettre des images à un récepteur éloigné. Une structure d'appui est montée de façon détachable sur le bâti et a des dispositifs de retenue tournants pour supporter de façon mobile un ou plusieurs boudins de mollusques devant la caméra.
