A method of manufacturing an installation-ready pipe coupling is disclosed. The method includes providing pipe coupling segments each having an initial radius of curvature and an initial subtended angle. The segments are each deformed so as to take a permanent set and have a final radius of curvature greater than the initial radius of curvature and a final subtended angle smaller than the initial subtended angle. The deformed segments are assembled in end-to-end relation using adjustably tightenable fasteners to form a coupling. The deformed segments are maintained in spaced relation so that pipe elements can be inserted between them without disassembly of the coupling.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un raccord pour tuyaux prêt pour une installation. Le procédé comprend lutilisation de segments de raccord pour tuyaux ayant chacun un rayon de courbure initial et un angle sous-tendu initial. Les segments sont chacun déformés de manière à prendre une forme permanente et à avoir un rayon de courbure final plus grand que le rayon de courbure initial et un angle sous-tendu final plus petit que l'angle sous-tendu initial. Les segments déformés sont assemblés bout à bout à laide de dispositifs de fixation pouvant être serrés de manière ajustable pour former un raccord. Les segments déformés sont maintenus dans une relation espacée de sorte que des éléments de tuyau peuvent être insérés entre eux sans démonter le raccord.
