An instant acoustic logging method for use in oil drilling, wherein a drill bit (16) arranged at one end of a drill string (12) and rotated in a well (18) is used as the acoustic source. The method comprises the steps of measuring, at the top (22) of the string (12), the vibration generated therein by the rotating drill bit (16), sensing acoustic signals from the drill bit (16) at at least one point (24, 26) on the ground (28) away from said drill bit (16), and processing the signals to provide data on the rock (32, 34, 36) around the well (18). Said method comprises an additional preliminary step of processing the vibration measured at the top (22) of the string (12) to determine the nature of the pilot signals from the drill bit (16), said data on the rock around the well being obtained by comparing the acoustic signals sensed on the ground (28) with the pilot signals from the drill bit (16).

Procédé de diagraphie acoustique instantanée utilisable lors d'un forage pétrolier dans lequel on utilise comme source acoustique un outil de forage (16) disposé à une extrémité d'une garniture de forage (12) et mis en rotation dans un puits (18), le procédé comportant les étapes consistant à mesurer, à l'extrémité (22) supérieure de la garniture (12), les vibrations produites dans la garniture par l'outil de forage (16) en rotation, à capter, en au moins un point (24, 26) sur le sol (28) éloigné de l'outil (16) des signaux acoustiques émis par l'outil (16), et à traiter ces signaux afin d'obtenir des données concernant la roche (32, 34, 36) entourant le puits (18). Selon l'invention le procédé comporte une étape additionnelle préalable de traitement des vibrations mesurées à l'extrémité (22) supérieure de la garniture (12) afin de déduire la nature des signaux pilotes émis par l'outil (16), les données concernant la roche entourant le puits étant obtenues en comparant les signaux acoustiques captés sur le sol (28) aux signaux pilotes émis par l'outil (16).
