A method of providing instant messaging communication between a first user and at least one other user via a communication network. The method comprises: executing an instant messaging client (500) at a user terminal of the first user, the instant messaging client having a user interface comprising a message composition, region (502); the instant messaging client receiving a selection of media for insertion into the instant messaging communication from the first user; the instant messaging client generating a link comprising the address of the selected media, at a network element and creating a selectable control with the link embedded therein (702); inserting the selectable control in the message composition region of the instant messaging client; the instant messaging client receiving user-viewable text entered by the first user into the message composition region in addition to the selectable control (704); and the instant messaging client transmitting the contents of the message composition region of the instant messaging client to the at least one other user over the communication network responsive to a command from the first user.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour fournir une communication de messagerie instantanée entre un premier utilisateur et au moins un autre utilisateur par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau de communication. Le procédé comprend les opérations suivantes : exécution d'un client de messagerie instantanée (500) au niveau d'un terminal utilisateur du premier utilisateur, le client de messagerie instantanée ayant une interface utilisateur comprenant une région de composition de message (502); le client de messagerie instantanée reçoit une sélection de média pour une insertion dans la communication de messagerie instantanée à partir du premier utilisateur; le client de messagerie instantanée génère un lien comprenant l'adresse du média sélectionné au niveau d'un élément de réseau et crée une commande sélectionnable avec le lien incorporé dedans (702); insertion de la commande sélectionnable dans la région de composition de message du client de messagerie instantanée; le client de messagerie instantanée reçoit un texte visualisable par l'utilisateur saisi par le premier utilisateur dans la région de composition de message en plus de la commande sélectionnable (704); et le client de messagerie instantanée transmet les contenus de la région de composition de message du client de messagerie instantanée à l'au moins un autre utilisateur sur le réseau de communication en réponse à une instruction provenant du premier utilisateur.
