The instrumentation according to the invention includes a cutter (2) adaptable to a holder (1), and shaped to constitute on its own a test acetabulum that can receive a test femoral prosthesis head. The cutter (2) can be attached to the pelvis (34) with nails (29), its direction being located by the screwing mechanisms (32) of the cutter holder (1). The same screwing mechanisms (32) are then used to place the final acetabulum in the same direction as the cutter (2), making it possible to select the direction of the final acetabulum to reduce the risks of dislocation of the joint.

L'instrumentation selon l'invention comprend une fraise (2), adaptable sur un porte-fraise (1), et conformée pour constituer par elle-même un cotyle d'essai permettant de recevoir une tête d'essai de prothèse fémorale. La fraise (2) peut être fixée sur le bassin (34) par des clous (29), son orientation étant repérée par les moyens de visée (32) du porte-fraise (1). Les mêmes moyens de visée (32) sont ensuite utilisés pour orienter le cotyle définitif dans la même orientation que la fraise (2), permettant ainsi de choisir l'orientation du cotyle définitif pour réduire les risques de luxation de l'articulation.
