There is disclosed an instrument panel assembly (10) and a method of forming the same. The instrument panel assembly (10) preferably includes one or more frames or structures (12 or 14) that are at least partially formed of plastic. The assembly also preferably includes a reinforcement structure (18) for assisting the instrument panel assembly (10) in supporting a peripheral component (140) such as a steering wheel column.
