A device and method that tests and monitors, either automatically or manually, the instrument performance of various components electrically linked to the electronic circuit of a diagnostic instrument. The components of the electronic circuit including the potentiometric operational amplifiers and multi-channel connector are tested for leakage current, A/D reference voltage, edge connector contact resistance, and background noise.
