ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Telephone cables are constructed from helically twisted pairs of insulated conductors, the insulation of each conductor having embedded therein projecting fibres distributed throughout the length and circumference of the conductor. The fibres of adjacent conductors intermesh and maintain constant the spacing between conductors and the pitch of the helix.
