An insulated fan cover assembly located within a building for use in air- sealing a fan aperture in a side or roof of the building, which aperture is to allow air flow out of the building under the action of a fan, the cover assembly having a planar insulating member having flexible peripheral portions operably bendable under suction action of the fan to allow air flow out of the building. The assembly provides an air-seal when installed adjacent the fan aperture and has the safety feature of allowing air flow to be drawn through the aperture should the fan be activated, inadvertently, or in emergency conditions.
