case 2582 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A slot closure for a dynamoelectric machine having a spring between the slot closing key and the outer conductor in the slot to apply and maintain a spring force to assist in retaining the conductors securely. The spring has a width substantially the width of the slot and a length at least several times the width. The spring is made with a transverse curvature to provide the spring action. The spring, when wedged between the key and the outer conductor, provides a substantially continuous line loading along the length of the slot rather than a spaced or interrupted loading.
