An insulation displacement connector (5), which may be compatible with two or more types of insertion tools, has a plurality of teeth defining slots (10) therebetween for wire insertion. A ledge (34) is formed at the base of the teeth as one, non-castellated, side thereof and an anvil (50) is provided on the ledge for each slot. The anvil extends into the slot and provides a terminating surface for a chisel type insulation displacement connector.

Connecteur (5) autodénudant, pouvant être compatible avec deux types d'outils d'insertion ou davantage, et possédant une pluralité de dents délimitant entre elle des fentes (10) permettant l'insertion d'un fil. On a formé un épaulement (34) à la base des dents en tant que côté non crénelé de celles-ci et pour chaque fente, on a monté une enclume (50) sur cet épaulement. L'enclume s'étend dans la fente et constitue une surface de bouclage destinée à un connecteur autodénudant de type biseau.
