ABSTRACT An insulation retainer having a central member with three equally spaced cross members affixed to it. Each cross member has two end portions which are parallel to one another and normal to the central member. The middle cross member is located at a 45° angle relative to the central member. In use, a suitable configuration of retainers are mounted adjacent to a wall to be insulated with the end portions pointing away from said wall. Insulation can then be pressed onto the end portion so that it pierces the insulation. Subsequently, a cap is placed on each end portion to hold the insulation in place.
