Abstract of the Disclosure A liquid multi-purpose coating composition is dis- closed which has significant resistance to heat transfer. The coating composition may be applied to many different types of substrates including wood, metal, concrete and other structural materials. The composition is a water-based liquid containing principally kaolin, staple fibers and a dispersing agent. The coating composition and articles coated therewith exhibit excel- lent insulating properties against heat and radiant energy. Considerable energy savings and various economies are obtained by the insulative compositions.
